The Pickwick Theatre in Park Ridge

The beautiful Pickwick Theatre will be closing its doors on January 12, 2023.

The building, known for its Art Deco architecture, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975, recognizing both the art and architecture within the structure.

The building was built in 1928. That makes it 94 years old. We have been to the theatre many times, and it is still in great condition.

It started as a vaudeville stage, and then movies, live shows, and concerts have played there.

The building has its distinguishing features, such as: the large and bright marquee and the 100 foot tower over the entryway.

The main theatre can seat over 900 people. Over the years 4 additional, smaller screens were added behind the main theatre.

There has been talk that some groups would continue operating the theatre in some capacity. It is a beautiful theatre, and hopefully will continue to operate for a long time.

Here are some cool pictures we took of the theatre.
