Margie's Candies in Chicago

by Cecilia Kleiner 06/07/2024

On the corner of Armitage & Western Ave. in the Bucktown neighborhood is the original Margie's Candies Shop.

Margie's opened this location in 1921. For 103 years they have been making their homemade candy, chocolates, and serving Ice Cream in their iconic Ice Cream Parlor. It is still family owned by the Poulos family and they have passed down the recipes and traditions from generation to generation.

It's a small little store, but you will feel as you have stepped back in time when you enter Margie's Candies.

It's a great place to visit. You can enjoy an Ice Cream Sundae, Banana Split, an Ice Cream Soda, a Root Beer Float, or the Royal George; a huge bowl of 25 scoops of Ice Cream and toppings.
